In Which We Wish Our Tuntis Bon Voyage

This last week has been a mad scramble, because we got our first bulk order for the Tunti! We’ve been selling them one by one or a few at a time, but this is the first time someone ordered a hojillion of them, all at once.

My Tunti partner, Traci, and our stellar friend, Marci, and I all spent the last few days adding the finishing touches to the cases, testing them, re-packing them, hauling them around, getting them palleted, and finally, today, I tearfully waved my hanky at them as they drove off into the wilds of Las Vegas, under the protection of Mr. Rock Star UPS Driver. (He says, “Hey, Take a picture before I close the door!”)

So, my dears, if you have been waiting on a case, I hope you’ll forgive the delay. Yours will go out first thing tomorrow!

And now, here’s a little photo gallery to commemorate this auspicious occasion:

Do not miss the pallet on the far right, OK!

Bon Voyage, Tuntis!

Tunti Boutique

I’ve decided to just throw the doors open at the Tunti Boutique! It’s far, far from finished — as I have tons more products to add. But I can never keep my pants on about anything, so go have a lookee, and if there’s anything you think I must add to the shelves, please let me know! I’m just sitting here plugging away on the inventory, adding new stuff.

The idea is to create a small, easy-to-navigate store, with all the top luxury, eco-friendly, organic, best-rated boudoir essentials. It’s going to be much more streamlined than the behemoth Tunti Toy Shop.

Also, I’m going to try to figure out an elegant way of adding a Reviewer Recommended section, with links to blogger reviews of these items, too. So, please let me know if you’d like me to feature and link to any of your reviews. I’ve been working on this idea for a while, but I just can’t figure out how to do it without making an unholy mess of the website. I think I will have to wait till I get the Boutique humming along, and then just dedicate myself to the Reviewers page.

In case you’re wondering, the storefront software I’m using is called Ecwid. It’s free (it’s still in its beta), and it’s awesome, and it’s designed to slip easily right into your blog or your widget sidebar. I recommend it so highly! Excellent dashboard interface. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Valentine’s Contest! Tunti Giveaway

Here’s the Valentine’s Contest, everyone! Win a Tunti!

When I was designing the Tunti case, I started by removing all barriers the of common sense and practicality, and threw down whatever popped into my head. Then I went back and edited with reality in mind, which is why vibrators don’t sproing out of the case and revolve like ballerinas to a Barry White soundtrack when you open the case.

This process got me thinking about a contest. So, here’s what you have to do to win your Tunti Illuminating Boudoir Toybox:

Describe the boudoir of your wildest imagination, as if money and the laws of physics were no issue. Post your entries in the comments section. I will enable the gallery, too, so if you are an artist and prefer to draw a picture or create a diorama, you can upload your pictures.

Your entries will be judged by me, Traci, and the esteemed and always fair-minded Milo George, and the winner will be announced on February 14th.

(Just because we do have to deal with actual reality, winners residing outside of the US will have to chip in for shipping costs over $15. And you can’t enter unless you are a legal adult citizen of whatever country you live in.)

Dame Darcy: About the Tunti Logo

I just added a page to the Tunti Enterprises website, about the artist who created the Tunti Enterprises Logo. But I wanted to include it here, as well.

Dame Darcy

My logo was created by Dame Darcy. If you’ve never heard of this Renaissance Woman, please, please go get to know her. She’s a cartoonist, fine artist, bluegrass musician, storyteller, dollmaker, and genuinely beautiful and stellar human being.

Way back when I was an editor at the comic book company through which she published her Meat Cake comics, one of my tasks was to proofread before production. I spent a lot of time laughing till I cried, with my red pen in hand. One of my prized possessions is a signed print I received for my birthday from one of my very best friends. And I keep the original logo artwork in a frame above my desk.

Back when I was doing in-home toy parties, I commissioned this logo from her for my business. While the business has evolved, I have kept this beautiful logo, of course. If you’d like to see the original line work, you can check it out here: Tunti Enterprises Logo.

If she is showing her work in your area, go check it out!

This is her website.

This is her blog.

Here are the Winners of the Tunti Haiku Contest

I reserved the first post on the new blog to announce the winners of the November Tunti Haiku Contest! Thank you all so much for participating. I love all the entries so much…

So, since the voting element of the contest didn’t seem to take, I appointed Milo George as Supreme Court Justice of Tunti Enterprises… he is the SCOTE, I guess. And he chose Ashley as the Haiku winner!

Milo says,

“Motherfucking shit”
AND a Rolling Stones title?
Ashley takes the win.

He’s very clever.

Here is Ashley’s winning entry:

A Sex Toy Tragedy in Three Acts or: How My Sister Violated My Intimacy Boundaries

Utter elation!
Candy treat for Halloween.
So green and lovely.

Sticky fingers snatch.
Candy Stick has disappeared.
Motherfucking shit!

Situation solved.
Still shaken and fear for toys.
Time for a lock down.

And my choice for runners up, who will receive 15% discount coupons to the Tunti Toy Store, are Mivox, whose entries are delightful and very funny:

Fumble in the dark,
eenie, meenie, miney, mo.
Wish toybox was lit.

and  Syntax, for this little masterpiece:

What’s under your bed?
Rabbit vibes with dust bunnies?
Time for a Tunti.

I suddenly hate contests, because I want everyone to win! But even though it breaks my heart, I will be announcing December’s Win a Tunti contest later today, so stay tuned. This is going to be a monthly feature, so you always have a chance to win!

Thank you for playing, guys. I love them all.
